Mathura Krishna Janmabhoomi: Allahabad HC Discards Petition Of Idgah Trust And Sunni Central Waqf Board
Mathura Krishna Janmabhoomi: The UP Sunni Waqf Board and the Shahi Idgah Trust had filed petitions in the Allahabad High Court challenging the May 2022 order of the district judge.
It upheld the maintainability of a suit filed by the petitioner deity, in a major development that paves the way for the resumption of hearing in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi dispute case.
The Muslim side had petitioned the HC to stay the district judge's order, which was granted.
After dismissing the petition, Justice Prakash Padia requested that the District Judge of Mathura issue an order after hearing arguments against the Civil Judge's ruling anew.
The District Judge of Mathura will require all parties to present their arguments again.

In 1973, a civil court allocated land to both the mosque trust and temple management based on an agreement between them.
A petition was filed in 2016 on behalf of the god, who was represented as a friend, to challenge the 1973 ruling.
The conflict began on September 24, 2020, when advocate Ranjana Agnihotri and six others petitioned a trial court to have the 17th-century royal Idgah mosque removed from the grounds it shared with the Katra Keshav Dev temple. It is also known as 'Krishna Janmabhoomi'.
The petitioners alleged in their application that the Shahi Idgah Masjid is built on 13.37 acres of land owned by the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust.
Waqf Board filed a petition to High court earlier
"A revision was filed against that decision, and the revision was allowed by the District Judge," said Virendra Prasad Maurya, an advocate from the Allahabad High Court.
The matter was remanded to the District Judge of Mathura by the High Court. Srikrishna Virajman had filed a revision motion with the District Judge in response to the Civil Court's decision to dismiss the civil complaint.
The District Judge overturned the Civil Court's decision and ordered a re-hearing. The Idgah Trust Committee and the Sunni Central Waqf Board contested the District Judge's order in the High Court under Article 227.
The single bench of Justice Prakash Padia issued its decision today i.e May 01.
