Asaduddin Owaisi Dares Centre to Carry Out Surgical Strike on China

Ankita Singhal

Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of the All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has vehemently criticized the BJP in response to its Telangana state chief, Bandi Sanjay's assertion of conducting a "surgical strike in Telangana's Old City".

Owaisi retorted that a surgical strike should rather be directed at China.

In a public assembly in 2020, Bandi Sanjay claimed that the incumbent Bharat Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and AIMIM Chief Owaisi were aiming to secure victory in the Hyderabad civic elections with the assistance of voters from Rohingya, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

"During his campaign for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation polls, Mr. Kumar made a statement suggesting that voters from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Rohingyas should be excluded from participating in the elections.

Additionally, he mentioned conducting a targeted operation in the Old City area if his party emerged victorious in the polls."

Owaisi brought up the problem of large budgetary allocations for temples

Referring to the statement made at a public gathering in Sangareddy, the leader of AIMIM responded by stating, "If they claim to have the courage, they should carry out a surgical strike on China instead of talking about conducting one in the old city."

Responding to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's assertion of a clandestine understanding between the AIMIM chief, the Telangana Chief Minister, and the BRS chief, Mr. Owaisi questioned, "Why do you, Amit Shah, feel agitated if I am the one in control?"

Mr. Owaisi raised the issue of significant financial allocations for temples.

Mr. Owaisi raised the issue of significant financial allocations for temples, stating, "A large sum of money was sanctioned for temples, and yet Amit Shah claims that I am in control. If that is the case, why does it bother you?"

Shah made allegations of collusion between AIMIM chief and KCR CM

During a BJP 'Sankalp Sabha' held in Chevella, Karnataka on April 23, Mr. Shah made allegations of collusion between AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana.

Mr. Shah asserted, "A government that is controlled by the Majlis (referring to Owaisi's party) can never effectively govern Telangana. The BJP is not afraid of the Majlis; it is a necessity for the BRS party, not for us.

The Telangana government should prioritize serving the people of the state rather than catering to Owaisi's interests."
