Wrestlers Protest: Indian wrestlers are living on the dusty sidewalk under the sweltering sun in Delhi ahead of the Asian Games 2023, demanding the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Wrestlers are unable to concentrate on their training sessions because their demand has not been met since January 2023.

Vinesh Phogat, a two-time World Championship medalist, shared an opinion article on Tuesday about wrestlers' problems and chastised the Centre for turning a blind eye to the matter.

Several Indian wrestlers are urging for appropriate measures to be taken against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who faces allegations of sexual harassment made by multiple wrestlers.

Ramdev asked for immediate arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh

For several weeks, yoga guru Ramdev has openly supported wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar.

Ramdev strongly criticised Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, leaving no room for ambiguity, and emphasised the need for the wrestling federation chief to be imprisoned.

"The allegations of harassment against the wrestling federation chief are profoundly shameful, and it is truly regrettable that the wrestlers of the country have chosen to stage protests at Jantar Mantar," Ramdev said.

Ramdev strongly asserted the need for immediate arrest and imprisonment of such individuals who engage in daily derogatory remarks about mothers, sisters, and daughters.

He labelled their actions as highly condemnable, emphasizing that it is an act of great evil and sin.

The fact that the wrestlers of the country have resorted to sitting at Jantar Mantar and making accusations of sexual misconduct against the president of the wrestling federation is undoubtedly a matter of immense disgrace.

During a three-day Yog Shivir in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, Ramdev expressed his frustration when questioned about the absence of Brij Bhushan's arrest despite an FIR being filed against him.

He stated, "I can only provide a statement; I cannot personally ensure his confinement in jail."

The yoga guru asserted his ability to address all political questions with competence, emphasizing that he is not intellectually bankrupt or mentally handicapped. He confidently expressed his vision for the country.

Ramdev, who has frequently faced media scrutiny for his statements, acknowledged that when he expresses his political viewpoints, the situation tends to become chaotic and tumultuous, often resulting in controversies.
