Satyendar Jain Hospitalized After Fainting in Tihar Jail Washroom

Satyendar Jain, a former Delhi Health Minister, was hospitalized at the national capital's Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital on Thursday i.e. May 25. 

According to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sources, Jain collapsed inside the Tihar jail's washroom. 

The former Delhi health minister was admitted to the hospital for the second time in a week due to health issues.

According to the DG of Tihar Jail, Satyendar Jain, who is housed in cell number 7 on the prison grounds, the inmate collapsed inside the washroom at around 6 a.m. on Thursday. 

He stated that upon arriving at the hospital, he would undergo a comprehensive series of medical tests.

Satyendar Jain to have spinal surgery

Satyendar Jain will also have spinal surgery, according to the DG.

According to another Tihar jail officer, Jain was placed under monitoring after complaining of weakness. 

His vital signs were normal, according to the official, who added that the former health minister also complained of pain in his back, left leg, and shoulder.

According to AAP sources, Jain has dropped roughly 35 kgs of weight after being imprisoned in a corruption case last year. 

Following his visit to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital on Saturday, Satyendar Jain sought a second opinion on his health and underwent an examination for a spine issue at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Monday, May 22.

According to a spokesperson from Safdarjung Hospital, Satyendar Jain visited the neurosurgery Outpatient Department (OPD) in the morning.

After receiving an examination from the doctors, he left the hospital accompanied by police.

Arvind Kejriwal shared a photo on Twitter

On Twitter, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shared a photo allegedly depicting Satyendar Jain sitting in a chair at the hospital, appearing emaciated and frail, while two police personnel stood nearby.

The tweet reads "I pray for Satyendar Jain's improved health. The people of Delhi are observing the BJP's arrogance and acts of oppression, which even God would not forgive.

In this ongoing struggle, we have the support of the people, and we believe that God is on our side.

We are inspired by the principles of Bhagat Singh, and our fight against oppression, injustice, and dictatorship will persist." This statement was shared in Hindi on Arvind Kejriwal's Twitter account.
