WPL 2023: The inaugural season of the Women's Premier League (WPL 2023) is scheduled to commence on March 4th.

The opening match of the tournament will feature Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants, taking place at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

Prior to the match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has arranged an opening ceremony to commemorate this historic event.

Several popular stars are expected to attend and add glamour to the occasion.

The Women's Premier League has announced on their official Twitter handle that Bollywood actresses Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani will be joining in on the celebrations.

The highly anticipated event will also feature popular pop singer AP Dhillon, known for his hit songs such as 'Brown Munde', 'Desire', 'Excuses', and 'Insane'.

The opening ceremony is set to take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

WPL 2023: Five franchises spend Rs 59.50 crore to buy 87 players

Let us tell you that for the first season of the Women's Premier League, the players were auctioned on 13 February. A total of 448 players landed in this auction. However, only 87 were sold.

At the same time, five franchises, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriors, Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore together spent Rs 59.50 crore to buy these players.

In the Women's Premier League, Gujarat, Delhi and Bangalore bought the most 18-18 players. Whereas, Mumbai bought 17 players and UP bought 16 players.
