NZ Vs ENG 2nd Test Match: The second Test match between NZ Vs ENG is being played at Basin Reserve in Wellington.

After losing the first match by a heavy margin of 267 runs, New Zealand is expected to bounce back and level the two-match series of the red ball format to one all. 

The Kiwis opted to bowl first after their skipper Tim Southee won the toss.

NZ Vs ENG 2nd Test Match: England lose 3 quick wickets for just 21 runs on the board

On a green top, New Zealand makes a good start to their innings. The bowlers hit the right line and length which cause some trouble to the England Cricket Team’s batters.

The visitors, England lost the first wicket in just 3.4 overs with just five runs on the board.

Matt Henry who missed the first Test match at Mount Maunganui bowled a good opening spell with the red cherry. 

Zak Crawley was the first one who was out for just two runs. Then The Kiwi bowlers strike again after some gap. Matt Henry was instrumental again in picking up the wicket of Ollie Pope for just ten runs.

Skipper Southee too had a wicket to his name in the very next over of the match as Ben Duckett was also dismissed in quick succession.

New Zealand was on top of the game after reducing the visitors to just 21 runs for the loss of three wickets and that too in just 6.4 overs.

It looked like the Kiwis will crush England in this innings. The opening spell from Matt Henry was good and Tim Southee also picked up one scalp to his name.

England was reeling at that point of time and they needed a partnership to get out of this situation. 

That much-needed unbeaten partnership came from the experienced star batter Joe Root and the new sensation of the England team Harry Brook.

Due to them, England dominated the opening day’s play. From being 21 for 3, Brook and Root have taken the tourists to 315 runs for the loss of just three wickets.

The second Test match between NZ Vs ENG has been a great exhibition because the bowlers and batters, both, had their moments.

First New Zealand bowled well to get those three early wickets and later the middle-order batters of England too batted extremely well to bounce back in style from the pressure situation.

Harry Brook has been in sensational form off late and he has continued that in the second Test match as well.

Brook scored two half-centuries in the first Test match. He scored 89 runs and 54 runs.

Harry was also won the player of the match in the first encounter. In the last match of this series, Brook is unbeaten on 184 runs and nearing his double ton.

While Joe Root the experienced campaigner of his team held the innings nicely with the sensational Brook. Joe Root failed to bat well in the first innings of the first Test match.

But he scored useful 57 runs in the second innings of the first match and he was also the top scorer for England in that innings.

Joe Root is unbeaten on 101 runs with Harry Brook on 184 runs. They have shared an unbeaten partnership of 294 runs.

England would look to pile more misery on the hosts on the second day as well. The first day was cut short because of the rain interruption and New Zealand would have a sigh of relief because of that.

At stumps on day one in Wellington, England has scored 315 runs for the loss of three wickets with 65 overs have been completed in this match till now.
