Multiple Locations in Kashmir's Pulwama and Shopian Raided by NIA in Terror Funding Case

Terror Funding Case: As part of an investigation into a case of terror funding and criminal conspiracy, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at multiple locations in Pulwama and Shopian, located in South Kashmir.

The case relates to the activities of terrorist groups operating under different pseudonyms, which are believed to be working under the direction of their handlers or commanders based in Pakistan.

A terror conspiracy case has led the probe agency to conduct raids on May 11 at the homes of three individuals in the Baramulla district.

The locations raided were the residence of Abdul Khaliq Regoo in Kansipora, Javid Ahmad Dhobi in Syed Kareem, and Shoaib Ahmad Choor in Sangri Colony.

In connection with an investigation into a terror conspiracy case, the probe agency conducted raids on May 11 at the residences of Abdul Khaliq Regoo in Kansipora, Javid Ahmad Dhobi in Syed Kareem, and Shoaib Ahmad Choor in Sangri Colony, located in the Baramulla district.

The NIA's actions have taken place several weeks following a deadly terrorist attack in Poonch, which resulted in the loss of five soldiers.

Shortly after the attack in Poonch, a separate incident occurred in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, where terrorists who were cornered by troops set off an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a densely forested area, killing five Army personnel and injuring an officer.

Previously, the NIA had seized properties owned by three individuals at different locations in Kashmir under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, in accordance with court orders.

NIA Raids in Jammu and Kashmir to Eliminate Emerging Terror Groups

To eliminate emerging terror groups, including The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (UL J&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, PAAF and others, the NIA has been conducting raids in Jammu and Kashmir.

These groups have gained prominence after the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir's special status on August 5, 2019.

Over the past three years, these groups, particularly in Jammu's Pir Panjal region, have claimed responsibility for a majority of the militant attacks that have taken place.
