Maruti Suzuki India has started booking its most popular car Swift. You can book this hatchback on the company's official website or from Arena dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. The company is going to launch the facelift version of the car in India on 9 May 2024.

According to media reports, the next generation Swift will be given a Z-series 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine as compared to the current model. The new engine can give a mileage of about 40 km per liter.

Apart from this, the next generation Swift will be given advanced safety features like ADAS with 6 air bags. Maruti's parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation introduced the fourth generation Swift at the Auto Motor Show in Tokyo, Japan.

New Generation Swift: Price and Comparison

The current model is priced at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), after the inclusion of new features and design, the price of the new Swift is expected to start from Rs 6.3 lakh (ex-showroom). In India, it will compete with Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago.

Next Generation Swift: Exterior Design

Talking about the design, it retains its old look, but many new design elements are visible on closer inspection. Its front has sharp looking headlamps with projector setup, in which inbuilt LED daytime running lamps are available. Between the two headlamps, a redesigned honeycomb pattern black grille with dark chrome finish has been given.

The company's logo is now given above the grille and just below the bonnet. Some changes have also been made to the front bumper and the front fog lamp gets a separate housing and it looks much cleaner than before. There is no change in the side profile except for 16-inch alloy wheels. The taillights have been changed at the rear. Now they are smaller and sportier than before. Hybrid bedding has been given on the tailgate.

The new Swift is 15mm longer, 40mm less wide and 30mm higher than the current model, but the wheelbase is the same as the current model with 2,450mm. The company is calling it the fourth generation model, while the new-gen Swift is based on the same Heartect platform.

Next Generation Swift: Interior

Suzuki has also made changes in the interior of the car. The new generation Swift gets a completely new dashboard layout with black and white dual-tone theme, which is inspired by the Fords, Baleno and Brezza. It gets a new dashboard layout with a 9.0-inch floating infotainment system, sleek AC vents and HVAC controls below. Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, steering-mounted controls and automatic climate control. New Z-series petrol engine will be available

The biggest change in the popular hatchback will be in its powertrain. This engine generates 90hp of power and 113Nm of torque. The transmission information of the new Swift has not been revealed yet, but it is expected that it will get the option of 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. At the same time, it can also be offered with CNG and hybrid engine options. Next Generation Swift: Features
