Investors’ Trend increased in Gold amid Corona Crisis

Analysts said that the strong wave of Corona transition we are seeing this year, so there are signs of investors' tendency towards gold increasing. Even though the demand for physical gold is low, but as an investment instrument, the appeal of gold among investors will remain.

The slowness in economic activity due to the Corona transition has once again boosted the trend of investors towards gold. Investors are continuously increasing investments in gold. They have invested Rs 864 crore in Gold Fund and Gold Exchange Traded Fund ie Gold based ETFs. According to the data, the investors have invested Rs 3200 crore in gold funds and Rs 6,900 crore in gold ETFs in 2020-21. With this, gold has become expensive by one and a half percent in the last one week.

Demand for physical gold is low, but investment in gold ETF is increasing

Even though the demand for physical gold is low, but as an investment instrument, the appeal of gold among investors will remain. Mutual fund managers also believe that investors are looking to invest in gold funds and gold ETFs. Since there is still a problem in buying physical gold, the investment of investors in these instruments is increasing. Gold funds and gold ETFs have received 13 to 14 per cent returns in the last one year.

Gold prices rise by one and a half percent in domestic market

Meanwhile, the price of gold has increased by one and a half percent in the domestic level in the last one week. However, there is a slight decline in silver. The demand for physical gold in the country has decreased and due to the lockdown, the store is not opening, customers are not able to buy gold jewelery or coins. Despite the festivals and weddings season, physical gold is selling less. But investors are looking at gold as a great investment option.
