IPL 2024: The next edition of this cash rich league tournament will be played in the window of March and April 2024 which will be before the T20 World Cup 2024 starts in West Indies and United States of America. The mini auction for the IPL 2024 will be held in Dubai on 19th December 2023.

As the IPL 2024 mini auction date is approaching, all the 10 franchises have started making strategies to win that battle. On November 26th, 2023, all the franchises released the list of released and retained players.

Every franchise released many expensive players from their team so that they could focus on better options. Some players are in different brackets of base price.

Currently, the IPL Governing Council has sent a list of 1166 players to all the franchises, who have registered in the mini auctions. However, the final pool will be much smaller when teams submit the names of the players who are interested to the Indian Premier League 2024 season.

This time, there are names of many star players in the base price bracket of Rs 2 crore, Rs 1.5 crore, and Rs 1 crore. However, many of these names are difficult to bid in the mini auctions of the IPL 2024 edition.

In this segment we will name those 5 overseas players who we think that they might go unsold.

The franchises can bid big on Starc, Head and Ravindra, who appeared in the best form in the recent ODI World Cup 2023. If Mitchell Starc plays the IPL 2024 season, he will return to this mega T20 event after eight years. He last played for RCB in the 2015 season.

Starc was also the part of 2018 auctions, where he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 9.4 crores. But the Aussie pace bowler was ruled out of the season due to injury.

Starc might using the IPL as part to prepare for the 2024 T20 World Cup in June in Caribbean and USA.

Australia's Smith has registered himself at a base price of Rs 2 crore. He has played 242 T20s so far in his career and has scored 5221 runs at a strike rate of 127.55. However, Smith last played in the 2021 IPL and his performance was not special. In eight matches, he was able to score only 152 runs.

In the Indian Premier League edition of 2022, no one bought this Aussie batter and in the last season of IPL 2023 edition, Steve Smith did not participate in the auction. Now in the IPL 2024 edition, this time as well, Since Independence thinks that this Aussie batter is almost certain to remain unsold in the mini auctions.

2. Rassie van der Dussen

The South African batsman had played some good innings in the beginning of the recent ODI World Cup 2023, however, his bat was kept silent by the opposition bowlers in the second half of that fifty overs tournament.

Dussen was previously part of the South African T20 International squad. But he has been dropped from the T20Is for the upcoming three match series against India.

Dusen has registered himself for Rs 2 crores in the mini auctions for IPL 2024 season. According to our predictions, Dussen might go unsold.

3. Angelo Mathews

This legendary Sri Lankan all-rounder has registered himself at a base price of two crores. Mathews is not a regular part of the Sri Lankan team at the moment.

Recently, in the World Cup, he was included in the team when captain Dasun Shanaka was injured. His recent performance has also not been special.

Mathews has so far scored 3247 runs in 196 T20s, during which his strike rate is 120.75. Apart from this, Angelo also picked up 92 wickets. Despite all his talent and experience, Matthews may go unsold in the mini auctions of IPL 2024.

4. Chris Jordan

This star fast bowler of England has registered himself at a base price of Rs 1.5 crore. However, Jordan has always been more of a replacement player.

In the last season, he was made a replacement for Jofra Archer in the franchise side of Mumbai Indians. In such a situation, Jordan can be picked as a backup option or he might go unsold.

5. Colin Ingram

This former South African batsman has not been consistent in the IPL. The 38-year-old made his IPL debut in 2011 and since then has played only 15 matches. He last played in this league in 2019.

Apart from this, his base price is one and a half crore rupees. Ingram might go unsold in the mini auctions of IPL 2024 season.
