India Tour of South Africa 2023/24: India will play a three-match series in the ODI and T20I formats. The men in blue side are also scheduled to play a two-match red ball series as well. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play only the two Test matches and they opted out of the limited overs series. While KL Rahul will lead the fifty-overs side and SKY will continue to be the skipper of the shortest format series which starts from Sunday, 10th December 2023.

India Tour of South Africa 2023/24: India will play the fourth T20 International match against the Aussies today in Raipur. The fifth and the last game of this five-match series of the shortest format will end on this Sunday, 3rd December 2023 at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

After the current T20I series, India will tour South Africa for a full fleshed tour which involves all three formats. The men in blue side will start the tour with 3 match series of the T20 International format.

They will also play 3 match series of the one-day international format and end this tour of the Proteas Nation with two-match series in the red ball format.

Suryakumar Yadav is the current skipper of the men in blue side in the series against Australia. He has done a decent job until now. India is 2-1 up in that series currently. SKY will continue to lead Team India in the shortest format in the absence of Hardik Pandya.

Yadav ji has been named as the skipper of the three match series of the shortest format in South Africa as well.

The 1st T20 International match will be played from Sunday 10th December 2023 at Kingsmead in Durban, 2nd T20 International format is fixed on Tuesday, 12th December 2023 at St George's Park in Gqeberha. The third and the final match of this three-match shortest format series is scheduled on Thursday, 14th December 2023 at New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. All the T20I matches will start at 9.30 PM Indian Standard Time, 4 PM GMT and 6 PM Local.

Ravindra Jadeja, the spin bowling all rounder will return to the shortest format squad in this series for India. Jaddu has been rested from the current series against the Aussies and he will be the deputy of SKY in the three match T20I series versus the Proteas. Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj are also named in that series of the shortest format.

The Karnataka batter, KL Rahul is having a good time with the bat and behind the stumps in the one-day international format. KL also had a good ODI World Cup 2023 and he was also the top scorer in the finals of that fifty overs event.

Rahul was also the skipper when India played the ODI series in South Africa when they had toured the last time. In that series, the Proteas whitewashed the men in blue side with a margin of 3-0.

Now again, KL has been bestowed with responsibility of leading the ODI side in South Africa and this side looks different as the seniors have opted out from this fifty overs series which starts from Sunday, 17th December 2023 at New Wanders Stadium in Johannesburg.

The second ODI will be played on Tuesday, 19th December 2023 at St George's Park in Gqeberha.

The third and the last match of this fifty overs format series will be played on Thursday, 21st December 2023 at Boland Park in Paarl. All these ODI matches in this series will start 4.30 PM Indian Standard Time, 11 AM GMT and 1 PM Local.

The likes of Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Tilak Varma, and Sanju Samson have been given a chance.

The bowling department consist of Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal and Deepak Chahar. India’s regular pace bowlers will play the two Test matches only.

The regular Indian star-studded players will be back in the two match series of the red ball format and they will aim to create a history this time.

India has never won a single Test series in the Proteas Nation. So after being rested, the key Indian players will be fresh to accept the challenge which the homeside, South Africa will give. Rohit, Virat, Bumrah, and Siraj will play the two-match series of the Test format.

The first Test match will start on the boxing day, which is played after Christmas – Tuesday, 26th December 2023 to Saturday, 30th December 2023.

The venue for this match is SuperSport Park in Centurion. India will end this tour of South Africa with the second and last red ball match which will be played at Cape Town from 3rd to 7th January 2024.

Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul will be the designated wicket-keepers for the two-match red ball series. Shreyas Iyer has made it to this Test squad and Ruturaj Gaikwad has also found a place.

But the Test match specialist batters like Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been dropped from this red ball series squad.
