But it was Maxi’s unbeaten knock which allowed Australia to go past the finishing line. The Aussies are still alive in this series with still two more games to be played.

List of All T20I Centuries: Australia won the third match of the five match series of the shortest format and they have kept the series alive as well. Glenn Maxwell again mastered the run chase brilliantly for the Baggy Greenside.

His unbeaten innings of 104 runs from just 47 balls allowed Australia to win the third match by five wickets. Australia still has two more chances to clinch this series of the shortest format.

India batted first and posted a formidable score of 222 runs in their allotted 20 overs. The men in blue side reached that score manly because of their opening batter, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who smashed his maiden international ton and he is the only batsman from the Indian team to score a century against the Aussies in the shortest format. Rutu was unbeaten on 123 runs which he scored from just 57 deliveries.

Today we will make a list of all T20I centuries scored by the Indian batters in this segment -

1. Suresh Raina Vs South Africa in 2010

MR IPL, Suresh Raina was the first Indian batsman to smash a century in the shortest format for India. Suresh had achieved this feat in a T20 World Cup game against a strong South African bowling lineup.

Raina was the main man when the team was under Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Mahi Bhai used Raina as an all-rounder, and he batted in the middle order for the men in blue side.

In the World Cup game of the shortest format, Suresh Raina smashed 101 runs from just 60 deliveries and he also became the first Indian to score a hundred in the T20 International format in the ICC mega event.

Raina's ton propelled to a 16-run win over the Proteas. Overall, Raina was a good batsman in the limited-overs format for India. He had played 78 games in the shortest format and scored 1604 runs for the side.

2. Rohit Sharma’s Four Tons in T20 International Format

Hitman is the second Indian batter to score a ton in the shortest format. He is also the only Indian batter to smash four centuries in the shortest format.

As we all know, Rohit Sharma’s career has been changed since he started opening the innings for India in all three forms of this gentlemen’s game and this credit goes to the former Indian legendary captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni for allowing Rohit Sharma to bat as an opener.

Rohit scored his first-ever hundred in the shortest format against South Africa in Dharamshala in 2015. Sharma Ji scored 106 runs which went in vain as South Africa stunned India in that game.

Later, Rohit scored his second ton against Sri Lanka where he smashed 118 runs from just 48 balls in 2017. His 3rd century came versus the Windies.

He scored 111 runs in 2018 and his last ton in the shortest format came against England in that same year of 2018 in Bristol. In that game, Hitman scored 100 runs from 56 deliveries.

3. KL Rahul 2 T20I Centuries

Highly talented Indian wicket-keeper-batsman Kannur Lokesh Rahul has scored two centuries in the T20 International format, which is the third most after Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.

Rahul's first hundred in the shortest format came against West Indies in 2016 while batting in the middle order. Rahul scored an unbeaten 110 runs from 51 deliveries.

But he couldn't guide India to a victory in that match as the men in blue lost the game by just one run. Two years later, in 2018, Rahul hit another ton in the shortest format, and this was against England, where KL Rahul scored unbeaten 101 runs from 54 deliveries and helped India chase a modest score in the end and India also won the game by a margin of eight wickets.

4. Deepak Hooda Vs Ireland in 2022 –

Deepak Hooda became the fourth Indian men’s cricket player to smash a ton in the shortest format for India. Hooda is an immensely talented all-rounder, and he bats in the middle order for the men in blue side.

He got the opportunity against Ireland in the two-match series and made them count with his brilliant batting display.

In the rain-hit encounter, Hooda was asked to open the innings. He guided India to a comfortable win in that game, and in the final match of the two-match T20I series, Deepak was promoted to number three, and he smashed his first ton in the shortest format.

India had lost Ishan Kishan early after they opted to bat first in that game. But Hooda shared a great partnership with Samson to ensure that India would post a mammoth total in front of the Irish team. Deepak scored 104 runs from just 57 deliveries and helped India to score 225 runs in the end.

5. Suryakumar Yadav’s 3 T20 International Tons

The numbr one batter of the shortest format, Suryakumar Yadav has scored 3 centuries in this format, which is the second most after Rohit Sharma.

Suryakumar Yadav is a talented youngster who showed his worth with the bat in the Indian Premier League tournament and also in the T20 International form of the game for India.

His 1st ton came when India was chasing a target of 215 runs. At that time, Surya scored 117 runs which went in vain.  

Then Surya hit two more tons in T20 International format. His second T20I Ton came against New Zealand in 2022, after the T20 World Cup was played that year. Yadav ji scored 111 runs from just 51 balls against the Kiwis in that match which India won and the last century for Suryakumar Yadav came in 2023 against Sri Lanka at Rajkot, where he slammed the Lankan bowlers all round the park during his knock of 112 runs which he scored from 52 balls.

6. Virat Kohli scored his first and only T20I ton against Afghanistan in Asia Cup T20I 2022

The former skipper Virat Kohli too has been named in this list because he is the sixth Indian batter to score a ton in the shortest format. King Kohli achieved this feat against Afghanistan in the 2022 Asia Cup was which was played in the T20 International format. Virat played a mind-blowing knock of 122 runs, which is his one and only century for the men in blue side in the shortest, T20 International format.

7. Shubman Gill scored a majestic T20I Hundred against The Kiwis –

India won the three match series of the T20 International format against New Zealand mainly because of Shubman Gill's marathon innings. His majestic ton allowed The Blues to pile up 235 and Gill had batted for the whole 20 overs.

The Indian opener was unbeaten on 126 runs from just 63 balls. Gill is the seventh Indian batter to achieve this feat of scoring a century in the shortest format. Shubman's unbeaten 126 runs is also the highest Individual score for the men in blue side in the shortest format.

8. Ruturaj Gaikwad is the First Indian to score a T20I Century against Australia –

The Indian opening batter, Ruturaj Gaikwad is the latest entrant in this list. India reached 222 runs in their 20 overs because of Rutu’s amazing knock. He has been a seasonal campaigner of the Chennai Super Kings as well.

In yesterday’s game, Gaikwad batted till the end and scored 123 unbeaten runs. Unfortunately for him and India, that wasn’t enough as the men in blue side lost the match by 5 wickets.
