IPL 2024: The mini auctions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in Dubai on 19th December 2023. Many teams have retained and released their players from the franchise sides.

The big news in this is that Hardik Pandya returns to the Mumbai Indians franchise after a gap of two long years and Cameron Green has been brought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side.

At the same time, Shuman Gill will captain the team of GT for the first time in his career during the IPL 2024 season.

The Indian Premier League has been such a stellar tournament since its first season in 2008. India won their first and only World T20 title in 2007 in South Africa and this enormous idea of a franchise league-based cricket tournament came in the minds of the BCCI officials.

No one had this idea before and after the success of the IPL, many other countries also organize a tournament like this every year.

After Ben Stokes, the Test match captain of England decides to opt out of the next season of the Indian Premier League edition in 2024, another player from the England cricket Team has decided to follow his Test captain’s footsteps.

Jofra Archer, the pace bowler will not play the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League to manage workload.

The fiery pace bowler of England hasn’t registered for the mini auctions as well. 34 players from the cricket team of England have registered for the mini auctions which will be held in Dubai on 19th December 2023.

Archer was released from the Mumbai Indians side last month. With the T20 World Cup 2024 playing after the IPL 2024, ECB has also told the West Indian born cricketer to skip the upcoming edition of this cash rich league tournament.

ECB’s director Rob Key has said that England believes that Archer’s return can only be managed if he stays in the UK and many franchises even believe that, the Mumbai Indians franchise has let Archer go because of his fitness issues.

England’s director has also mapped a recovery program for the fiery pace bowler because the team wants Archer to make a comeback for England with full fitness.

Jofra hasn’t played any professional cricket matches since May 2023. He had suffered a recurring stress fracture on his elbow while he played for his franchise side of MI.

Archer travelled as a reserved player in the 2023 ODI World Cup as well. But he couldn’t a game because Jofra wasn’t fully fit. The 28 year old pace bowler has been retained by MI Cape Town for the second season in a T20 League in South Africa.
