IND Vs ENG: Rohit Sharma’s India will be up for the BAZBALL challenge against the visiting side of England which will be led by Ben Stokes in the five-match series of the red ball format.

The first Test match between IND Vs ENG will be played at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal from tomorrow, Thursday, 25th January 2024 to 29th January 2024, Monday.

As we all know that this series will be the part of the World Test Championship (WTC) cycle of 2023 to 2025. India is on the 2nd position while England is on the seventh spot and the Aussies who are the champions of this Test ICC mega event are on the pole number after they whitewashed the Pakistanis and also won the first Test match against the West Indies side who are in Australia currently.

For India, one bad is that their star batter has withdrawn from first two Test matches of this series against the English men.

Virat Kohli will not be available, and India will have to find someone to fill that vacant number 4 spot, which King Kohli has sealed in the red ball format.

The absence of Virat will be a huge blow for the home side and at the same time, a relief for the opposition team.

England’s fast bowler James Anderson is a legend of Cricket. Jimmy will be still part of this tour to India again this time like he was in 2021.

This tour to the Men in Blue nation will be Anderson’s sixth visit and he was also part of the series-winning tour to India in 2012.

The legendary pace bowler has picked up the most wickets as the pace bowler with the red cherry in hand. On this tour of India in 2024, England and Anderson will be without Stuart Broad for the first time.

Jimmy and Stuart were the lethal pace bowling partners ever in the traditional format of this gentlemen’s game.

They, Anderson and Broad had destroyed the world’s best batting lineups. However, now the 41-year-old pacer will be a lone warrior and he will also have to guide the young bowlers of his team during this series between IND Vs ENG.

1. Jimmy Will Look To Set Record of Picking Most Wickets in India by an Overseas Bowler in Test Matches

James Anderson has played 13 red ball matches in India and he has picked up 34 scalps so far and he has an average of 29. Anderson will be a threat to the Indian batters especially with the new ball. James didn’t perform that well in the Ashes Test series against The Aussies last year.

But now the legendary pace bowler will aim to get the most wickets in India by an overseas pace bowler in the red ball format in India.

The fast bowler from the Caribbean nation holds this record of picking up the most wickets by an overseas pace bowler in India.

Courtney Walsh has picked up 43 Test Match wickets in India, which is the most by any pace bowler from the foreign country and Jimmy is just 10 wickets away from getting to this milestone and he has 5 Test matches to get to this milestone.

2. Anderson is Also Just 10 Scalps Away From Getting 700 Wickets in Test Matches

The legend bowler has picked up 690 scalps in the red ball format, which is the most by any pace bowler in this cricketing world in the Test matches.

Now Jimmy is just 10 wickets away from picking up 700 scalps in this longer version of this gentlemen’s game.

If he gets to that milestone then he will be just the third bowler to pick up 700 wickets and he will be the only pacer in the world to do so.

James will also look to go past the record of the legendary Late spin bowler Shane Warne in this series, which might be his last tour to India.

The spin bowler from the Aussie nation, Shane Warne had picked up 709 wickets in the red ball format while another spin magician Muttiah Muralitharan had got the most wickets in the Test match Cricket. The Sri Lankan legend has 800 wickets to his name.

The first Test match between IND Vs ENG will be played at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal from tomorrow, Thursday, 25th January 2024 to 29th January 2024, Monday.
