Indian Batsmen with Centuries Across Formats: In Indian Cricket Team, there have been many best batters in the cricketing history in all the generations and across the three formats of this gentlemen’s game.
In today’s time, where the competition is so high and it demands a lot from the players, still, the batsmen have done well in the limited opportunities which they have got till now.
The players are also blessed to get an ideal platform like the Indian Premier League. This cash-rich league tournament of the T20 format has spotted many young and raw talents who will serve Indian Cricket in future.
The IPL can be a potential window where the young guns of India can be selected for the national side.
Scoring just one century in one format is itself a huge task. But the Indian cricket team have batters who are always up for the challenge in all situations.
Some batters have smashed a ton in each of the three forms of the game. These four current batters have smashed a ton in red ball format and the white ball game which is known as the limited overs format like ODIs and T20Is.
The Indian skipper has smashed tons in all three forms of the game. Rohit Sharma has scored 5 centuries in the shortest format, 10 tons in the red ball format and 31 hundreds in the fifty-overs format.
HITMAN’s first century in the shortest format came against South Africa in 2015 in Dharamshala. Rohit scored 106 runs in that game and his first ton in the red ball format was in 2013 against The Windies.
He smashed 177 runs on his Test debut and he smashed his first hundred in the fifty overs format in 2010 against Zimbabwe. He scored 114 runs in a losing cause.
The Karnataka wicketkeeper batsman has been a talented batter in the Indian team line up and that too in all three forms of the game. Since the injury to Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul has now been looked at as the designated wicketkeeper in all three forms of this gentlemen’s game.
This player from Karnataka has scored 8 tons in Tests, 7 centuries in ODIs and 2 tons in the T20I format for India. Rahul’s first T20I ton was against West Indies in 2016. He scored an unbeaten 110 runs, which almost took India to a famous win.
In the ODI format, KL scored his ton in his very first match. Against Zimbabwe at Harare, Rahul was not out on 100 runs in 2016.
While his Test ton came on Sydney Cricket Ground when India toured Down Under. In 2015, KL Rahul scored 110 runs against Australia.
The King has also scored tons in all three formats of the game. He has been named third in this list of the players who have achieved this mammoth feat in their international cricket careers.
Virat Kohli scored his first and only ton in the shortest format in the 2022 Asia Cup, which was played in the T20I format.
King Kohli scored 122 runs in that game which India won by 101 runs against Afghanistan. Earlier Kohi had scored tons in the fifty-over format and red ball format matches as well.
VK has smashed 29 tons in the red ball format and 50 centuries in the ODIs. The King also went past Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 hundreds in the fifty overs format during the ODI World Cup 2023.
Virat slammed his first ODI ton in 2017 against Sri Lanka where he scored 107 runs at Eden Gardens and his first ever ton in test matches was against Australia in Adelaide.
He scored 116 runs in that red ball match played in 2011. With that, Kohli also has scored the most centuries in the IPL as well. He has scored 7 tons to his name for RCB.
This list ends with another current opener of the Indian team. Shubman Gill is the current star of the team who has also smashed tons in all three forms of the game.
Gill also scored centuries in the TATA IPL 2023 season as well for his franchise team Gujarat Titans. Shubman scored 3 tons which was the most by any player in that season of the IPL.
