In a statement, President Biden expressed his appreciation for Susan Rice's contributions to his domestic policy agenda over a period exceeding two years, acknowledging her extensive public service and characterizing it as a significant and historic service to the country.

The President expressed his satisfaction in announcing that Neera Tanden would retain her role in spearheading the development and execution of his domestic policy agenda.

This comprehensive agenda covers various aspects such as promoting economic mobility and racial equity, addressing issues related to healthcare, immigration, and education.

President Biden noted that Tanden's appointment as the head of one of the White House's three major policy councils would make her the first person of Asian-American descent to hold such a position, thus creating a historic moment.

President Biden AND Neera Tanden

Neera Tanden has 25 years of experience

As Senior Adviser and Staff Secretary, Neera had been responsible for overseeing the decision-making procedures of the President's domestic, economic, and national security teams.

President Biden highlighted the extensive public policy background of the individual in question, noting her 25-year-long tenure in the field, her service under three different Presidents, and her decade-long leadership role at one of the largest think tanks in the country.

The President also acknowledged her significant contributions to domestic policy, including her role as a chief designer of the Affordable Care Act, as well as her involvement in the formulation of critical elements of his policy agenda, such as incentives for clean energy and measures for responsible gun control.

Neera relied on some of the essential programmes that she will manage as a Domestic Policy Adviser as a child, and I am confident that her insights will benefit my Administration and the American people.

He expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with Neera in her new capacity, emphasizing his eagerness to maintain a close working relationship with her.

Zayn Siddique will be promoted to Principal Deputy

Tanden was born in Massachusetts to Indian immigrant parents and attended Yale University and the University of California, Los Angeles.

Her selection is especially crucial as America prepares for elections in 2024 when domestic policy will be a main focus and source of contention.

In addition, the President disclosed two other personnel decisions, including the selection of Stefanie Feldman to the role of Assistant to the President and Staff Secretary.

Moreover, Zayn Siddique would receive a promotion to become the Principal Deputy of the Domestic Policy Council.
