Indian Student Attacked With a Knife in Canada

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar tweeted that an Indian student in Toronto, Canada was shocked after receiving information about a serious attack on Rachel Albert. I am asking the Ministry of External Affairs officials to help him get a visa for his family.

According to media sources, the Indian student was attacked with a knife on Thursday in Toronto. Rachel is from Tamil Nadu. The student is admitted to the care unit of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center. Rachel Albert, a master's student at York University, is reported to have been walking near her campus when an unknown assailant beat her up, pushed and dragged her.

According to Toronto police, the attack occurred near Litch Avenue and Assinbion Road around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Wounds were found on his body and he was immediately rushed to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The police have sought the public's help to locate the unidentified person. The police has outlined the attacker.
