According to the municipal government, a car show in northern Mexico's Baja California turned tragic on Saturday, resulting in the loss of at least 10 lives and leaving nine individuals wounded in a shootout.

The attack happened at an all-terrain automobile racing display in Ensenada's San Vicente neighbourhood. 

According to 911 calls, persons with long rifles came out of a dark van at 2:18 p.m. (2118 GMT) and began shooting at participants at a petrol station.

Various authorities, including municipal and state police, the Marines, the Fire Department, and the Mexican Red Cross, among other agencies, swiftly responded and arrived at the scene.

Death of three police officials

State Attorney General Ricardo Ivan Carpio Sanchez has tasked a special investigative team, as announced by Mayor Armando Ayala Robles, to look into the car show shooting.

As per sources, the identities or nationalities of the victims have not been disclosed to the public at this time. The wounded individuals were transported by Mexico's Red Cross to hospitals located in Northern Baja California.

There was firing on last Monday as well

Police officials in Mexico also reported on Monday (May 15) that a shooting incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including police officers, while two others sustained injuries.

In the city of Farmington, the shooting incident took place around 11 am, as stated by Deputy Chief Barrick Crum of the Farmington Police during a press conference. The incident involved a man firing shots in the street.
