New Mexico Shooting: On Monday i.e. May 15, a shooting incident occurred in a residential area of Farmington, New Mexico, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least three individuals and injuries to six others.
The gunman opened fire, causing harm to several people, including two police officers. Farmington is situated approximately 180 miles (290 kilometers) northwest of Albuquerque.
During a news briefing, the police provided information that the 18-year-old gunman was gunned down by responding officers outside a church after the incident.
According to the police, both injured officers, one from the Farmington Police Department and the other from the New Mexico State Police, were reported to be in stable condition at San Juan Regional Medical Center.
The conditions of the remaining four injured civilians were undisclosed at the time of reporting.
Following the gun violence incident, security lockdowns were implemented at various public schools in Farmington, a city with approximately 46,000 residents.
The lockdowns remained in effect until the police confirmed that there was no longer a threat to the public.
In a regrettable incident last month, Farmington police mistakenly went to the wrong address while responding to a domestic violence call and ended up shooting and fatally injuring a man at his front door.
