A two-day annual conference on capacity building of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was organized on Saturday by National Disaster Response Force. It was inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah in Science Bhavan, New Delhi. On this occasion, the participants of Civil Defense, Home Guard, and Fire Services were also present.

In his address after the inauguration, the Home Minister said, "After the formation of NDRF, till now in many disasters, NDRF has done a very good job in time, not only in India but in many other countries too. Not only as a minister but also as an Indian citizen, I would like to thank NDRF.

The Home Minister said, "A comprehensive plan to tackle the challenges arising from disaster, which has been missing from the roadmap of India's infrastructure for a long time, is now making this plan. On the lines of NDRF, SDRF has been constituted in 24 states, about 25 M.C.D. in which 11 lakh people have participated. Nagpur is going to be a big center too.

Disaster management can solve the challenges of the field only if all the teams have weapons to fight it. Also, to work there, all the facilities are above the international standards. I urge all the tools to be indigenous by compiling with DRDO.
