Modi Government Announces Onions, Tomatos and Pulses Prices to be Reduced from Today

The Government has announced the prices of onions, tomatoes and pulses  to be reduced. On Wednesday, the Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs held a meeting on the prices of onions, tomatoes and pulses. Apart from this, the availability of onion, tomatoes and increasing their services were discussed.   The meeting was held in presence of Consumer Affairs Secretary Avinash Srivastava. The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Mother Dairy, representatives of the Government of Delhi, MD NAFED, Central Stores and senior officials of Consumer Affairs. In the meeting, the committee discussed the reduction in prices of onions, tomatoes and pulses in Delhi. Many decisions were also taken during this period. Along with this, the committee has asked to supply these things with immediate effect.

In the meeting, NAFED has been instructed to increase the supply of onions at various consumer centers including Delhi. It has been said in the meeting that the arrival of kharif onion will increase in the coming time, due to which the prices of onion have already started to decrease. With this, Mother Dairy and Safal will be provided more stock for retailing up to 4 trucks everyday including Delhi, which will also have an immediate impact on prices.

In the meeting, Mother Dairy said that it is selling three varieties of tomatoes at three different prices in Delhi  whose prices have been fixed at Rs 30, Rs 40 and Rs 55. At these prices, the committee has asked for further reduction, after which they agreed to the decision of the committee. In the meeting, Mother Dairy has asked to reduce the prices of tomatoes from Rs 2 to 3 in its 400 retail outlets.
