Curfew has been imposed once again in Srinagar on Sunday, a day after the situation in Jammu and Kashmir became peaceful. It is being told that police vehicles patrolling the city are announcing to loudspeakers that people should return to their homes. With this, shopkeepers were asked to drop their shutters.

The state police tweeted on Saturday- Since the withdrawal of Article 370, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has been peaceful till now and no incidents of violence have been reported anywhere in the state. Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh said that no untoward incident has taken place in the state after minor stone-pelting

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi told reporters in Delhi that the situation had deteriorated in the newly created union territory. The Director-General of Police was then asked about the state of the state. The government said in a statement that BVR Subrahmanyam, the senior police officer, and chief secretary, has asked people not to believe the rumors being spread about the alleged incidents of firing in the Kashmir Valley. On Saturday, many people went out to the market to shop for Eid in Srinagar and elsewhere.

A Home Ministry spokesman said on Saturday that there had been no serious incident in the last few days except for some protests. However, around 20 people attended these demonstrations too. The spokesperson said that there have been some protests in Srinagar and Baramulla and none of these more than 20 people had participated. He called media reports about protests by some 10,000 people in the Kashmir Valley concocted and inaccurate.
