Assembly by-Elections in four States to be Held on September 23, Results to be Announced on 27

The Election Commission has announced the by-elections to be held for the vacant assembly seats in four states. These elections will be held in Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh. Polling will be held on September 23 and counting of votes on September 27.

Bye-elections will be held in Dantewada in Chhattisgarh, Pala in Kerala, Baderghat in Tripura and Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Voting will take place on September 23, and counting will take place on September 27. The deadline for submission of nominations is from 28 August to 4 September. After the scrutiny of nomination on 04 September, the last date for withdrawal of nomination has been fixed as 7 September.

Hamirpur seat of Uttar Pradesh has been vacant since Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Ashok Chandel's assembly membership ended. As per the notification of Election Commission, Hamirpur seat is being considered vacant from April 19, 2019. On the other hand, this seat is vacant after the killing of MLA Bhima Mandavi by the Naxalites in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh.
