Meta Declares New Tools For Users That Helps In Controlling What They Want To See On Instagram

Meta said on Tuesday that it is experimenting with two new approaches to give consumers more control over what they see on Instagram. While Instagram is testing the option to flag multiple posts in Explore as 'Not Interested,' the company will also soon begin testing the ability to tell Instagram you don't want to see suggested posts with specific words, phrases, or emojis in the description or hashtags.

"We're exploring the option to designate several posts as Not Interested in Explore. "We will remove those postings immediately and abstain from displaying you similar information in the future," the business stated. You may use this tool to prevent yourself from viewing stuff that is no longer relevant to you, or if you have moved on from something you used to enjoy.

You can also see a specialized feed of your Favorites

The Instagram user interface displays the option to add or remove accounts from your Favorites list. When you add an account to your Favorites, their posts will appear higher and more frequently. "You can also see a specialized feed of your Favorites to catch up on only their postings," Meta explained.

By hitting Not Interested, the post is immediately removed from your feed

When you use the 'Following' function, you will only view posts from the accounts you follow, in chronological order. By hitting Not Interested, the post is immediately removed from your feed, and "we'll propose fewer things like it in the future," the business stated.
