A bench of Justice MR Shah and Justice AS Bopanna listed the matter for hearing on November 17.

Solicitor asked for three weeks time from the court

Earlier, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that the government has filed an affidavit. In which it has said that it is contemplating withdrawing the cases against the telecom companies. He sought three weeks' time to reply in this matter so that the government can take a decision on it.

TDSAT canceled the decision of the government

The central government has filed an affidavit in an appeal against Anil Ambani's Reliance Communications (RCom), challenging the order of the Telecom Disputes Resolution Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT). TDSAT had quashed the government's decision to charge for the additional spectrum allotted to RCom. TDSAT had also asked the DoT to return Rs 2,000 crore to the company.

This is the argument of the government

The department has said that the telecom sector is going through a financial crisis due to various circumstances. Telecom service providers are running in losses.
