Auto Sector in Deep Crisis, Maruti’s Manesar-Gurugram plant will remain Closed for 2 days

Maruti Suzuki's Manesar and Gurugram plants will be closed on 7 and 9 September. That is, there will be no production in the company on both these days and employees will be left. This decision has been taken by Maruti at a time when the sales of the company are continuously declining. Due to this, heavy production has also been cut by Maruti. Let us know that in August, Maruti's car sales fell by 32.7 percent to 1,06,413 vehicles. Whereas in the same month last year, the company had sales of 1,58,189 units.

Maruti Suzuki cut its production by 33.99 percent in August. This is the seventh consecutive month when the country's largest car manufacturer has reduced its production. According to the latest data from Maruti Suzuki, the company produced 1,11,370 vehicles in August, compared to 1,68,725 vehicles in the same period last year. Talking about the production of passenger cars, there were 1,10,214 vehicles in August, which was 1,66,161 vehicles in August 2018. Thus, it has fallen by 33.67 percent.

Mini cars Production Declined by 34 percent

Maruti's production of cars in the mini and compact segments, including Alto, New WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno and Dzire, declined by 34.1 percent. The production of utility cars like Vitara Brezza, Ertiga and S-Cross decreased by 34.85 percent in August compared to a year ago. While the production of commercial vehicle Super Carry also decreased compared to last year.

Layoffs in Maruti Suzuki

For the past several months, due to slowness in sales and production, Maruti Suzuki has also laid off temporary employees. Recently, the company laid off more than 3000 temporary employees.
