Apple Watch Not Using Blood Pressure Sensor Until 2024

Shivam Verma

The Apple Watch is one of the most technologically advanced smartwatches available. It has advanced sensors in an appealing form factor that consumers can personalize with numerous accessories. Along with the most recent model, the Apple Watch Series 7, the business offered quick charging and decreased the display bezels.

Previously, there were rumors that Apple might incorporate blood pressure sensors inside its wristwatch, but according to the most recent research, this is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

In a recent study, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman speculates that an Apple wristwatch with a blood pressure sensor may not be available until 2024, or two years from now.

Gurman provides information from sources close to the situation. While Apple is developing a blood pressure sensor and software for its wristwatch, it has yet to attain the precision required for this functionality to be offered to the public.

Apple is Still Working on Blood Pressure Sensor

The article also discusses Apple's approach to developing the function, stating that while Apple's blood pressure technology does not notify users about their blood pressure readings, it will alert users if it detects that they are suffering from hypertension or a condition of high blood pressure. According to reports, Apple is testing the technology on its staff to reach the best level of accuracy possible.

Apple is also developing a non-invasive blood sugar monitor for its wearable, in addition to the blood pressure sensor. However, it will still take months of research and development to create a function that reliably tells users about their blood sugar levels. Aside from the two functionalities already mentioned, Apple is working on including a body temperature sensor in its wristwatch.

Apple's Possibilities to Launch MacBook Model at WWDC 2022

In related news, Cupertino-based tech behemoth Apple may be preparing to unveil a new MacBook Air at the next WWDC 2022, which is set to take place in June. Reports of a new Mac model and chip have been circulated on the internet for some months.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple may unveil two MacBooks at WWDC 2022. One of the two devices would be a revamped MacBook Air, presumably the 15-inch MacBook Air that has recently been discussed. The second option may be a smaller MacBook Air or an entry-level MacBook Pro with the M2 CPU.
