Sidhu Moose Wala's Father Denies Rumours of Contesting Elections, says- I have no such Intention

Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's father on Saturday rubbished rumours circulating on social media about him contesting elections in Punjab, saying he had no intention of doing so.

In a 55-second video on his son's YouTube channel on Saturday, Sidhu Moose Wala's father was seen with folded hands and appealed to the audience not to pay heed to such rumours.

He said that I want to tell you that I am saddened by what is happening on social media. Many rumours are going around, but don't believe them.

I recently lost my son and I have no intention of contesting elections. Also, he said that there is a prayer meeting on June 8, then I will answer your questions.

Singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Jawaharke village in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29, a day after the Punjab government cut security.

Amid the protests, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also met Sidhu Moose Wala's family at his Mansa residence on Friday.

The same day a BJP leader from Punjab approached the Supreme Court demanding a CBI probe into the murder of Moose Wala.
