World Wrestling Championships Trials Shifted!!

Harshita Sharma

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Tuesday moved the men's trials for the World Championship from Sonepat to Delhi's IG Stadium, remembering "better organization facilities".

The parent body likewise demanded that the choice to move settings was not taken fully expecting disturbance from unruly fans at the Bahalgarh complex.

As of late a couple of officials had mentioned the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) to change the setting for Friday's trials since they feared for their security at the little lobby at the SAI (Sports Authority of India) focus in Sonepat.

Sushil Kumar is expected upon to take part in the trials for the World Championships.

There is the wrong spot for fans to sit and watch the procedures at the Bahalgarh Center and it typically ends up hard to contain supporters in the event that they don't concur with the choice of the administering official and judges.

Vinod Tomar, Assistant Secretary – WFI"We have shifted the venue to IG stadium in Delhi because there is huge interest in World Championship trials. Fans, thousands in number, are expected to come and watch. The small wrestling hall at Bahalgarh cannot accommodate so many fans."

Inquired as to whether the official's solicitation has constrained them to change the scene, Tomar answered in negative.

Vinod Tomar, Assistant Secretary – WFI"No no. It's not about referees. Wherever the WFI conducts trials, the referees will have to report. It's about better management. IG stadium has good seating capacity and trials can be conducted smoothly there."

Be that as it may, history proposes that even IG arena saw revolting scenes during the 2018 Commonwealth Games trials when supporters of star grappler Sushil Kumar and Praveen Rana traded blows.

The men's trial will start at 8 am on Friday and it has been chosen to hold the trial for just six Olympic weight categories – 57kg, 65 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 97kg and 125 kg.

Double cross Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, who contends in 74kg, has sent his entrance for the trials.

The trials for the women's wrestlers are booked to be held on Sunday in Lucknow.
