TATA IPL 2023: In India, the India Premier League has been a platform where talent meets opportunity. The IPL has given many cricket players their bread and butter at a very young age. 

Scoring hundreds in this cash-rich league tournament is not easy. But many batters have scored not just one but more centuries in just one edition. 

Chris Gayle has the most centuries in this T20 tournament. Today we shall name the batsmen who have scored the most hundreds in a single season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

This list includes many classy players, who have donned the T20I format as well for their respective countries.

1. Virat Kohli (4 Centuries)

The list starts with the King of Indian, International, and IPL cricket. Kohli has been an inspiration for the youth of India and worldwide. 

VK has scored 4 centuries in a single season. The IPL 2016 season was a golden season for Virat. He has amassed 973 runs with four tons. That allowed RCB to be in the final of that edition.

2. Jos Buttler (4 Centuries)

The wicket-keeper batter and the T20 World Cup-winning captain of England, Jos the Boss was in phenomenal form in the last TATA IPL 2022 season.

He has smashed four centuries and scored 893 runs. But failed to score one more century to go past the record of Virat Kohli, the King of IPL and Indian Cricket.

3. Shikhar Dhawan (2 Centuries)

The opener batter of the Indian team and current skipper of Punjab Kings needs to replicate what he did for his past franchise, Delhi Capitals (DC). 

The PBKS have won two games in a row. But still, they need Gabbar to fire. DC (Delhi Capitals) reached their maiden final in IPL 2020 season and Dhawan had a significant role to play in that. 

He had smashed two back-to-back centuries in that season and he is the only player to achieve this feat. Those centuries were scored against Chennai Super Kings and his current franchise Punjab Kings.

4. Hashim Amla (2 Centuries)

The South Africa legendary opener was the best batsman in the Test arena. Hashim Amla was also a good ODI player.

But he has been included in this list because he also has scored the most hundreds in a single IPL season.

Amla achieved this feat in the IPL 2017 season and both centuries were not in winning cause.

5. Chris Gayle (2 Centuries)

The Universal Boss, Chris Gayle has the most centuries under his belt in the Indian Premier League. Gayle has smashed six tons and he has also hit two centuries in one single IPL season. 

In IPL 2011 season, Gayle scored centuries against Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings. Both of his centuries were unbeaten ones.

6. Shane Watson (2 Centuries)

The former RCB, CSK, and RR player, Shane Watson was a good player in the Indian Premier League. Shane Watson, the Aussie all-rounder has guided Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings to their title wins.

Watto has been named the last in this list because he had hit two hundreds in a single IPL season.

He scored a match-winning ton for CSK against SRH in the 2018 IPL final; before that, he scored another ton against Rajasthan Royals.
