TATA IPL 2023: 5 Century Makers Of This Season
TATA IPL 2023: Virat Kohli holds the record for smashing the most centuries in the cash-rich league tournament. The King had scored 5 IPL tons till now.
Jos Buttler and Virat Kohli scored 4 centuries in a single season which is also a record in this tournament. Kohli got to this feat in 2016 while Buttler achieved this record in the last season of IPL 2022.
In the current edition of the TATA IPL 2023, there are six batters who were stranded in the nervous nineties. However, some of the batsmen also got to the three-figure mark in the ongoing season.
Today we shall name the five-century makers of this season in today’s segment. The first century maker is from England while the last century scorer till now is from the host country of this tournament.
1. Harry Brook
This batter from England is the first and only player from the overseas country to smash a ton in the current season of the Indian Premier League.
Harry Brook is a player from England and in this cash-rich league tournament, he plays for the Orange Army, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Against Kolkata Knight Riders, Brook smashed the first century of this TATA IPL season. Harry played an unbeaten knock of 100 runs and SRH won that match. Brook is the 5th century maker from England in this tournament.
2. Venkatesh Iyer
The all-round player from the Kolkata Knight Riders, Venkatesh Iyer is the second player to smash a ton in this IPL season. Super Venky did well to score 104 runs against Mumbai Indians.
However, his hundred wasn’t a match-winning one as KKR lost that match. But Iyer’s 104 runs is the second highest individual score this season.
3. Yashasvi Jaiswal
The RR opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal also smashed the fastest half century of the IPL. He took just 13 balls against KKR.
While his 124 runs knock against Mumbai Indians is also not in a winning cause. Jaiswal’s 124 runs are the highest individual score in the 16th edition of this cash-rich league tournament.
4. Suryakumar Yadav
Team India’s vice-captain of the T20 International format is also been mentioned in this list. MI scored a very good score against Gujarat Titans in their last game and that mainly came because of Suryakumar Yadav’s century.
SKY scored 103 runs and MI are still in the race of the playoff qualification.
5. Prabhsimran Singh
The wicket-keeper batter of the Punjab Kings franchise is the last one to get to the three-figure mark so far. Still, there is a chance for the other batters to join this list.
But as of now, Singh is the last player to score a ton this season. He scored 103 runs against Delhi Capitals in their last game.
PBKS was reeling at one point. However, Prabhsimran held the innings together and the PBKS side won that game because of Singh.
