Malaysia Masters: Saina and Sindhu Entered the Second Round

World Championship bronze medalist B Sai Praneeth was knocked out of the Malaysia Masters badminton tournament with a straight game defeat against Rasmus Gameke of Denmark in the first round here on Wednesday. Praneeth lost 11-21, 15-21 in the first round of this Super 500 tournament, which gave India a disappointing start.

Kidambi Srikanth also lost to Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien Chen. He lost 17-21 5-21 to the Chinese player. Indian women's shuttler Saina Nehwal made it to the second round of the Malaysia Open. She defeated Belgian player Lian Tan 21-15 21-17 in just 36 minutes. At the same time, PV Sindhu entered the second round by defeating Evgeniya Kosetskaya of Russia 21-15 21-13. While Parupalli Kashyap lost 17-21 16-21 to Kento Momota of Japan in the first round of men's singles.

Earlier on Tuesday, the men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also lost in the first round. On Wednesday, the other top badminton players of India will also appear on the court including HS Prannoy and Sameer Verma.
