COVID-19: The surge in COVID-19 cases across the country is alarming, with an increase in infections reported in several states, including Delhi, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1805 new cases in the last 24 hours, raising concerns over the rising positivity rate of 3.19%.

Additionally, the capital city of Delhi has also witnessed a surge in cases, with 153 new infections reported on Sunday i.e. March 26.

The situation is concerning and requires urgent attention to curb the spread of the virus.

According to the latest data, India's active caseload now stands at 10,300 which is 0.02 per cent, while the recovery rate currently stands at 98.79 per cent.

Mock Drill Conducted in Delhi Hospitals Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases

In preparation for the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi, a mock drill was conducted on Sunday i.e. March 26 in government hospitals to assess their readiness.

Dr. Suresh Kumar, the MD of Delhi's Lok Nayak Hospital, confirmed that in response to the threat of COVID-19, the hospital has reserved 450 beds, 5 PSA oxygen plants, and D-type oxygen cylinders.

COVID-19 Outbreak Reported in School in Uttar Pradesh

An outbreak of COVID-19 has also been reported in the Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, where 37 girl students and one staff member of a school tested positive for the virus, resulting in a total of 41 active cases in the district.

Dr. Santosh Gupta, the Chief Medical Officer of Lakhimpur Kheri, reported that 38 COVID-19 cases were detected at Kasturba School in Mitauli block, with 37 cases involving girl students and one staff member.

Dr. Santosh Gupta and Additional CMO Dr. Anil Gupta visited the school to assess the situation. The incident has raised concerns about the spread of the virus in the area.
