Water-Sewer Connection Fee Waived in Delhi

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has given a big gift to lakhs of people in the wake of Delhi Assembly Election -2020 to be held in January-February. From Friday, people will not have to pay road cutting fee and connection fee along with development fee for taking sewer connection.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced that now only Rs 2310 will have to be paid to get water and sewer connection. Consumers will no longer have to pay development and infrastructure fees while taking a new connection of water and sewer.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told the press conference that the Delhi Jal Board has abolished the development charge and infrastructure charge on sewer and water connections. Now for a plot of any size only Rs 2310 will have to be paid. The new system will come into force after the notification is issued. Right now, for the connection of sewer and water on a 200 meter plot, one lakh 14 thousand 110 rupees and one lakh 24 thousand 110 rupees have to be paid on 300 meter plot. CM said that people are still not taking sewer and water connection despite laying the line due to high charge.
