Important news for railway passengers. After the introduction of the new variant of Corona, Omicron, the Railways has come into ‘alert mode’. The Railways has now decided to increase the strictness regarding Corona in trains and has issued a new guideline for the passengers regarding Corona.

Railway Headquarters issued orders regarding the new variant Omicron of Corona

Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway, issued guidelines regarding Omicron during video conferencing (VC) with the officers of Ambala, Delhi, Lucknow, Moradabad and Ferozepur divisions on Tuesday. Reviewing the guidelines issued during the Corona period, he said not to relax it.

‘Second dose is compulsory for all the employees, also, follow the instructions of the third dose’

There was also a discussion about the employees and officers taking the dose of corona vaccine in all the divisions in the zone. 90 per cent of the employees and officers have administered the first dose of corona vaccine, while only 60 per cent of the employees and officers have administered the second dose.

In such a situation, instructions have been given to focus on the second dose. In view of the increasing danger, instructions come for the third booster dose, then that too should be done on priority. For this, the employees have been asked to make aware.

As before, passengers will also have to provide the destination address on the reservation form.

Oxygen plant in railway hospitals

Similarly, instructions have also been given to maintaining the oxygen plant in railway hospitals and it has been told to keep checking it in the routine so that there is no problem when needed.

Along with this, it was instructed that the corona guidelines should be followed regarding the passengers as well. While booking the computerized reservation ticket, the passenger is also required to provide his destination address, this rule will also be kept in force till further orders.

Let us tell you that due to the flow graph of Corona, the Railways removed zero from special class trains and did it as before. However, at present, Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) is not being used in all long-distance trains.

Although now it remains a challenge for the railways to get the passengers to follow the rules like masks and physical distance, still guidelines have been issued regarding this too.

On the other hand, Divisional Railway Manager GM Singh said that Railways is fully alert about the Omicron variant of Corona. Whatever guidelines will come from the Ministry of Health, they will be followed on time.
