Delhi gets Colder due to Snowfall in Hilly States, Temperature reaches 6.4 Degrees Celsius

New Delhi: The National Capital Delhi, on Wednesday morning, recorded a minimum of 6.4 degrees Celsius, which is one degree below the average temperature this season.

The humidity level was 100 percent. Meteorologists have expressed the possibility of being partly cloudy during the day and splattering with light rain or thunder at night. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature can remain around 18 ° C. The air quality index in Delhi was recorded 221 in the morning at 9.36 am, which is in the poor category. The air quality index is 'poor' in the range 0-50, 'satisfactory' in 51-100, 'moderate' in 101-300, 'poor' in 201-300, 'very poor' in 301-400 and in 401-500 is considered 'serious'. At the same time, AQIs above 500 are considered in the 'very serious' category.

Significantly, due to snowfall in the hill states, there is a drop in temperature in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It also rained in some areas of Uttar Pradesh.

Due to heavy snowfall, the temperature in the Kashmir Valley had dropped significantly. Night temperature in Srinagar was minus 1.8 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department in its estimation said that there will be more snowfall on Monday, while light to moderate snowfall occurred at different places in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
