The air quality index is 'poor' in the range 0-50, 'satisfactory' in 51-100, 'moderate' in 101-300, 'poor' in 201-300, 'very poor' in 301-400 and in 401-500 is considered 'serious'. At the same time, AQIs above 500 are considered in the 'very serious' category.

Significantly, due to snowfall in the hill states, there is a drop in temperature in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It also rained in some areas of Uttar Pradesh.

Due to heavy snowfall, the temperature in the Kashmir Valley had dropped significantly. Night temperature in Srinagar was minus 1.8 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department in its estimation said that there will be more snowfall on Monday, while light to moderate snowfall occurred at different places in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
