Refuting any leadership crisis in the Congress party, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Monday that Rahul Gandhi is still the party's captain and will be in the future also. Talking to media persons at party headquarters in Delhi, Gehlot said that Rahul is the captain of the party and he will continue.

I had said this even during my performance at the party office here last month. He refused to comment on the decision to appoint a new president of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) after leaving Rahul Gandhi's post. Rahul had made his resignation letter public last month. In support of Rahul Gandhi, Gehlot said that he has the courage to fight BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He accused the BJP of using armed forces to fight Loksabha elections while playing religious sentiments. He said, whoever gets the height, falls one day and this same thing will happen to the BJP.

They have achieved the height, but now if they do not fulfill their election promises, people will soon begin to ignore them. On the question about the fate of the Karnataka government, Gehlot said that people are supreme in democracy and whatever decision will be made, it will be accepted.
