New Delhi: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is currently awaiting the release of his next film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and says that many people in the Hindi film world have asked him to rethink his decision to play the role of a gay.

Ayushmann said, 'Whatever I am, I am because of my family. They have always supported me and due to them I have been able to take important decisions in my life. When I have decided to get into acting, they stood with me like a rock.

He further said, 'When I have decided that my films would be based on themes that broke the conservative thinking of society, they also supported me on this and never thought about what people would say about it' Ayushmann Khurrana further said that many people in the industry also asked to rethink their decision to play the role of gay man on screen.

He said, "Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan" is one of the most important decisions in my life. Many people from the industry asked me to reconsider it, because no main hero has ever played the role of a gay man on screen, but I knew that this thinking needed to be changed and this is the time. Somehow I just knew that I had to do it and I decided to do it.
