Tokyo Olympics may Held Before Summer 2021: IOC

International Olympic Committee (IOC) Chief Thomas Bach has said that all options are open for the new date of the Tokyo Olympics. He said on Wednesday, "These games are not limited only to the summer months. It may organize even before summer in 2021." The IOC on Tuesday postponed the games to next year. Meanwhile, the world body of athletics and swimming is set to shift the world championship for the Tokyo Olympics.

The World Championships of Athletics are to be held from 6 to 15 August next year while swimming is to be held from 16 July to 1 August. At the same time, the organizers of the Paris Olympic-2024 said that the postponement of the Tokyo Games will not affect the Games. These will be on schedule.

Japan has started re-organizing games. The organizers have closed the countdown clock of the Olympics. The clock previously showed how many days are left for the Olympics to begin. The torch relay has also been postponed. It was to begin from Fukushima on Thursday. The flame will remain in Fukushima.
