Like the income tax amnesty scheme, amnesty scheme is also planning to bring gold. Under this scheme, you have to give information of your undeclared gold till a certain date. Those whose gold is more than the limit will be taxed. According to sources, the tax can be 30 percent, which will be 33 percent with the addition of cess. After paying tax, it will become gold valid.

It is believed that black money is also present in large quantities in the form of gold. The gold amnesty scheme is being brought for the information of this unannounced gold. At present, the Finance Ministry has sent this proposal to the cabinet. If the cabinet approves it, then the rule will apply.

Let us tell that currently married woman can keep 250 grams of gold without announcing. Men can keep up to 150 grams while children can keep 100 grams of gold with them. According to reports, the limit of holding gold in the proposed scheme without receipt can be up to 500 or 1000 grams.

According to an estimate, the gold stock held by Indians is about 20 thousand tons. However, wrongly imported gold is not included in this. Along with the amnesty scheme, there may be announcements to promote gold as an asset class. For this, important changes can be made to make the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme attractive.
