The country's largest insurance company Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has started WhatsApp service for policyholders. With the introduction of this facility, now policyholders will not have to visit LIC office for many works. You will get many information easily while sitting at home.

Registration has to be done on LIC website. For this, you will have to fill your policy number and other necessary details by visiting LIC's website. After completing this process, you will also be able to take advantage of the WhatsApp facility. On June 19, 1956, the Parliament passed the Life Insurance Corporation Act and acquired 245 private companies working in the country under it. Thus on 1 September 1956 the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) came into existence.

In 1956, LIC had 5 Zonal Offices, 33 Divisional Offices and 209 Branch Offices across the country. Today there are 8 Zonal Offices, 113 Divisional Offices and 2048 Fully Computerized Branch Offices. Apart from these, there are also 1381 satellite offices. Till 1957, the total business of LIC was about 200 crores. Today it is close to 6 lakh crores.
