Karnataka Jain Muni Murder: In a tragic incident, a Jain monk was brutally murdered in Karnataka's Belgaum district. Following the shocking incident, the Karnataka BJP has called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
Two individuals, Narayan Basappa Madi and Hasan Dalayath, have already been arrested by the police in connection with the crime.
It has been revealed that the murder stemmed from a dispute over a monetary transaction.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, the BJP state chief, strongly condemned the incident and urged for a comprehensive probe that encompasses all aspects related to the crime.
Additionally, Kateel appealed to the state government to ensure the security of saints and seers across the state.
N Ravi Kumar, a BJP spokesperson and MLC, further appealed to the government to conduct a thorough investigation, highlighting the possibility of additional individuals being involved in the crime. It is crucial to uncover the complete truth surrounding the incident.
According to news agency PTI, the incident took place in the Chikodi area of Belgaum district. Jain monk Kamkumar Nandi Ji Maharaj had been residing at Nandi Parvat Ashram in this area for the past 15 years.
However, he suddenly went missing on Thursday (July 6), prompting the registration of a missing persons report.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the police have apprehended two individuals in connection with the case.
Both arrested suspects have admitted to the murder of Jain Muni. According to their confession, they brutally dismembered the body of Muni Kamkumar Nandi Maharaj and disposed of the remains in the river near Katakbhavi village.
Meanwhile on Sunday, in Hirekodi village, the final rituals of the of the Jain muni were solemnly conducted in accordance with the revered traditions of Jainism.
