Sukma police released a statement saying that an encounter took place between security forces and Naxals in the Bheji area, resulting in the death of two Naxalites. A search operation is currently underway in the region.

Sources have reported that two militants, identified as Madkam Erra, the SOS Commander of Golapalli carrying a bounty of Rs 8 lakh, and Podiam Bhime, the wife of Naxal leader Erra with a reward of Rs 3 lakh, were killed by the jawans.

As per reports, the security personnel have found a significant amount of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), weapons, and other materials, including automatic weapons, at the site of the encounter. However, an official statement regarding the recovery is yet to be released.

It has been reported that the Naxals were planning to carry out an attack similar to the 'Aranpur' incident, but their plans were foiled by the security forces.
