PBKS Vs GT TATA IPL 2023: The 18th game of the TATA IPL 2023 season was played between Punjab Kings (PBKS) Vs Gujarat Titans (GT) at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
The defending champions, GT won the toss and elected to field first in this game and that decision proved right for them in the end.
On the surface which was good for batting, the Punjab Kings batters didn’t put a good show with the willow in hand.
The PBKS side posted only 154 runs in their quota of 20 overs. The bowling was superb by the Titans as they successfully restricted the Kings to a below-par score.
Mohit Sharma was the stand-out performer with the ball and Subman Gill was good with the bat in the run chase of 155 runs.
Rahul Tewatia also gave a finishing kick to the innings which helped the GT side to win this match by 6 wickets. GT, RR and LSG are the top three teams in the current points table.
Despite the loss, the fans of Punjab Kings have something to cheer. The South African pace bowler who plays for the PBK side in the Indian Premier League has now become the fastest bowler to pick up 100 wickets in the tournament and Rabada has also gone past the former Mumbai Indians legend Lasith Malinga.
In just 64 matches of the Indian Premier League, the South African pace bowler, Kagiso Rabada, has got 100 wickets to his name.
Earlier, the Sri Lankan Legend and a key bowler of the Mumbai Indians team, Lasith Malinga had held this record.
The former MI pacer picked 100 wickets in 70 IPL games before this record was broken by Rabada in yesterday’s game.
