Mumbai Indians Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: In the 54th match of the TATA IPL 2023 season, Mumbai Indians (MI) took on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the second time in this 16th edition.

MI lost the first match when they faced RCB at MA Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But yesterday i.e. May 09, Rohit and his men turned the tables around in their favour at their fortress Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The RCB bowlers failed to defend 200 runs this time and their last defeat against Delhi Capitals was also because of poor bowling. In that match, RCB couldn’t stop Warner and his men from chasing a decent score of 182 runs.

This season MI has chased down 200 and plus runs three times in consecutive matches which is the most. They won this match by 21 balls to spare and that is also a record in this tournament.

Despite this record-breaking win from the Mumbai Indians team, they will not be too proud of that because their skipper Rohit Sharma hasn’t come to the party as of yet.

MI had a brilliant opening stand and that came mainly because of Ishan Kishan and not Rohit Sharma, whose strings of low scores continued in yesterday’s match as well.

In the 54th encounter (MI Vs RCB), the MI skipper scored just seven runs. Rohit’s poor form in the IPL is also a concern for India for the WTC 2023 final against Australia, which will be played at The Oval in London from 7th June 2023.

However, the conditions will differ. But Rohit has a lesser time to prepare for that ICC mega event in England.

Strings of Low Scores for Rohit Sharma in TATA IPL 2023

Rohit Sharma hasn’t been that batter in the Indian Premier League that many of us would like to see. Hit Man has done a tremendous job as an opening batsman of Team India in all three formats of the game.

However, his career as a batter in IPL hasn’t gone well. But Rohit is the successful captain in this cash-rich league tournament as he has won five IPL titles.

In the TATA IPL 2023 season, Sharma has aggregated just 191 runs in 11 matches played till now. After yesterday’s win against RCB, MI has climbed up to the third position in the points table.

But the MI team will want their skipper to be in good form as the race for the playoffs has started. HITMAN has had strings of low scores in the 16th edition and for the fifth time, Rohit has scored in single digits.

In the IPL 2017 season as well, when the Mumbai Indians won their third title of the IPL, Rohit had four single digits scores in that season. Sharma had scored 3,2,4, and zero in that season and in the current ongoing edition, Rohit had five such single-numbered scores 2,3,0,0 and seven which is the worst in his IPL career.

After scoring just seven runs yesterday, Rohit achieved the unwanted of scoring low scores in five continuous matches of the Indian Premier League 2023 season.
