IND Vs ENG: India is the only team in the world to defeat BAZBALL in a Test series. The Men in Blue side had lost the opening encounter by 28 runs in Hyderabad.
But they bounced back well to win the next three red ball games in Visakhapatnam, Rajkot and Ranchi. The home side leads this series with a margin of 3-1.
Now the last match of this five-match Test series between IND Vs ENG will be played in Dharamshala from Thursday, 7th March 2024 to Monday, 11th March 2024.
Talking about England, the visitors have lost their first-ever Test series under the leadership of Ben Stokes and the coaching skills of Brendon McCullum.
England was successful with the BAZBALL style of play earlier before touring India in 2024. Ben Stokes and co. won their maiden series of the red ball format in Pakistan as well and Stokesy is the first-ever captain of England to win a red ball series over there.
Ben captained the Test match side for the first time in 2020 when West Indies toured England during the lockdown mode which happened due to COVID-19.
In 2022, Stokes was made a full-time skipper of the traditional format when Joe Edward Root decided to step down and since the duo of Stokes and BAZ (Brendon McCullum) have taken their team, England to many newer heights in the red ball format.
Till now, Ben Stokes has led England in 23 games of the Test format. In that, his team has won 14 matches and lost 8 of them while 1 match was ended in a draw.
1. New Zealand Tour Of England – England won that red ball series by a margin of 3-0 against New Zealand. The home side won the matches played at Lords, Trent Bridge and Headingley.
2. India Tour of England – The Men in Blue were leading the series with a margin of 2-1. But the last match of this red ball series was rescheduled to 2022 due to the coronavirus, which allowed Ben Stokes and co to make a comeback and draw the last game in Edgbaston and also draw the series to two all.
3. South Africa In England – The hosts, England won the series by a margin of 2-1. The Proteas won the first Test match at Lords. But the home side made a strong comeback at Old Trafford in Manchester and Kennington Oval in London to seal that red ball series.
4. England Tour Of Pakistan 2022/2023 – England whitewashed the hosts, Pakistan and won that first-ever Test series on their soil. Ben Stokes is the only England skipper to whitewash Pakistan at their own den and also win the series. England played their matches in Rawalpindi, Multan and Karachi to win the series by a margin of three nil.
5. England Tour of New Zealand – This was a two-match red ball series between England and New Zealand. England won the first match at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui by a comprehensive margin of 267 runs.
But in the second and the last match of that Test series, New Zealand created history as the Kiwis won the match even after they were enforced a follow on. The hosts, New Zealand won it by just one run.
6. Ireland Tour of England 2023 – The Irish Men had the huge task of winning the series of the red ball format in England when they toured in 2023. But it was the home side, England again under Ben Stokes who won that one-off Test match at Lords in London by 10 wickets.
7. The Ashes: England Vs Australia 2023 – The rivalry between Australia and England resumed in 2023 in the Ashes Test series. Australia was excellent in the first two matches of this series. The Aussies won the matches in Edgbaston and Lords.
However, Stokesy and his men fought back brilliantly to level the series to two all. England won the red ball games at Leeds and Kennington Oval to square the five-match series.
