IND Vs ENG: The Men in Blue is the only side in this cricketing world to win a Test Series against BAZBALL team of England. Ben Stokes and his men didn’t lose a single series of the red ball format before this tour to India in 2024.
But now the visitors have managed to win just one game and they would be looking to end this series on a high, with a win in the last match in Dharamshala. England has lost hat trick of matches in this series. Their losses came in Vizag, Rajkot and Ranchi.
India has been rotating the players because of the workload management. Mohammed Siraj was given a rest in the second match in Rajkot and likewise, Jasprit Boom Boom Bumrah too was rested from the 4th Test match in Ranchi. Now the reports say that the star Indian pace bowler will play the final match of this series.
Despite resting the key players and some main players of this Indian Test side are missing due to personal reasons and fitness issues, India has won this series against a strong England side. The home side is leading the five match Test series with a margin of 3-1.
The Karnataka batter, Kannur Lokesh Rahul might miss the 5th and the last red ball match against England which will start from March 7th 2024 in Dharamshala as well like he was absent in the last three Test matches of this five-match series. Rahul played only the opening red ball game of this series which India lost by 28 runs in Hyderabad.
KL was said to be ninety per cent fit for the third Test match in Rajkot. But he is yet to regain his full fitness. The NCA and the managers of the BCCI have sent Rahul to the overseas expert after looking at the issue. Now he has been sent to London for treatment and it looks like Rahul’s issue will need an expert consultation.
The Karnataka batter had a pain in his right quadriceps and he also went for surgery for this same problem last year as well. Rahul is an important batsman who can also keep wickets in all three forms of the game and that is why the Indian Board BCCI and the management don’t want to take any risk on him.
Despite the fitness issues and there is still a stiffness in that above-mentioned injury, KL Rahul will play the Indian Premier League 2024 season.
KL is the skipper of the Lucknow Supergiants Team in this cash-rich league tournament and based on his performance in TATA IPL 2024, he might also play the World Cup of the shortest format in USA and Caribbean.
KL bats as an opener for his franchise side LSG. But this year, he will bat in the middle order and also be the wicketkeeper for his side. As of now Rahul only plays the One Day Internationals and Test matches for Men in Blue.
However, his good performances in this year’s cash-rich league tournament might earn him a recall in the T20 International format setup of the Indian Cricket Team.
