TATA IPL: After today’s game between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, just two more league will be played in the TATA IPL 2024 edition and then the playoff matches will start from Tuesday, 21st May 2024.
The qualifier one and the eliminator match will be played at Shri Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
While the other two final matches of the TATA IPL 2024 will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The qualifier two match and the final of the 17th edition of this cash-rich league tournament will be held in the city of Chennai.
The 2nd qualifier game will be played on Friday, 24th Mat 2024 and the final of this T20 tournament will be held on Sunday, 26th May 2024.
However, today’s match between RCB and CSK will decide which team will seal the fourth spot and also qualify for the playoff berth in this season of the TATA IPL 2024.
CSK and RCB had played once in this season earlier as well. The TATA IPL 2024 was started with the game between these two teams, Bengaluru and Chennai. CSK won that game by six wickets against Faf and his men.
The Yellow Army of Chennai Super Kings have won the IPL trophy for five times and they are also tied against Mumbai Indians in this regard. CSK won the titles in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. Rutu and his men are also the defending champions of this year’s TATA IPL 2024 edition.
In this ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League, the Super Kings are on the fourth position with 14 points and they need to win today’s game against RCB to get to 16 points which will qualify them for the playoffs.
While the team of Royal Challengers Bengaluru are on the seventh position with 12 points. This match is also a must-win game for Du Plessis and co as well.
It was in 2012 when Chennai Super Kings was on the fourth position in the points table of the TATA IPL. But they couldn’t lift that year’s title. Kolkata Knight Riders had won their first IPL trophy in the 2012 season.
CSK had played 16 matches of the IPL 2012 season. They had won 8, lost seven matches and one of their game didn’t produce any result.
In the year, of TATA IPL 2024, RCB had played well and they are on a match winning streak. The Challengers would like to take this winning momentum in today’s match against CSK and continue their winning run in the playoff matches as well to win their maiden title. RCB has been the team which has never won an IPL title even once as of now.
In the seasons of 2010 and 2022, the franchise side of Royal Challengers Bengaluru reached the fourth position in the history of the Indian Premier League.
But as we all know, they failed to clinch the titles in those years. In 2010, CSK won their first-ever IPL title and in 2022, Gujarat Titans won their maiden trophy in their debut edition.
