After a disappointing T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, India has been good in the matches of the shortest format.

Hardik Pandya has been wonderful as a T20I skipper of the men in blue and he has lost just two matches in the shortest format.

Those two losses came against Sri Lanka and New Zealand recently. However, he has not lost any series of the T20I played so far.

Today India will play the last match of the three-match series of the T20 International format against New Zealand in Ahmedabad.

The series is levelled to one all after India won the second T20I match by six wickets in Lucknow. The team is on the number one spot in the ICC Rankings in the T20I format.

India is ahead by just one point. The Blues have 267 points and England, who is in the second position has 266 points.

One loss in today’s game might cost India their number-one spot in the rankings of the shortest format.

Under Pat Cummins, Australia has not lost a red ball game and they are yet to lose a Test series. The Aussies have been dominant since Pat Cummins has taken over the captaincy from Tim Paine.

But the stern Test begins for them in the upcoming Test series on the tour of India. The Aussies have not won a single series in India since 2004. While India has won two back-to-back Test series in Australia.

Australia has done well under Cummins where the majority of the Test matches were played on their home soil.

Now Cummins would be eager to do well in the challenging conditions of India. The Aussies hold the number one spot in the ICC Test Rankings and they are also the number 1 team in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table.

For India, the four matches of the Border Gavaskar Trophy are highly important because the men in blue haven’t qualified for the WTC Final in 2023 yet.

India cannot afford to lose or draw this Test series against the mighty Aussies. Rohit and Co should win this series by a margin of 3-1 or 3-0.

Australia has got 126 ratings while India has 115 and they are on the second spot in the Test rankings.
