Seven Arrested for Smuggling Leopard Skin in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch of Odisha Police Friday seized four leopard skin and arrested seven persons allegedly involved in smuggling of banned items, a police officer said.

A team of STF acting on a tip-off raided a lodge at Kuchinda in Sambalpur district where seven people were planning to sale the leopard skin.

The arrested persons were identified as Sanjay Bagh, Sunil Kallu, Dusraj Patel, Jhulaketan Naik and Kailash Majhi of Laikara in Jharsuguda and Minaketan Mundu and Kumad Bara of Mahulpulli in Sambalpur.

Crime Branch DSP Bilasini Nayak said the seven persons were arrested under Wild Life (protection) Act, 1972 and other sections of IPC.
